ARUBA MURAL TOURS

Aruba Mural Tours (AMT) started officially the 7th of October 2018 where a group of street art enthusiasts called the ArtisA Center organizer of the Aruba Art Fair for a tour of all the murals that have been made for the Aruba Art Fair, but the idea of AMT started in 2016 after the 1st Aruba Art Fair  took place in San Nicolas. The creators of Aruba Art Fair new after the 1st 8 murals that one day they will have enough murals to delight art enthusiasts with a proper tour and after 3 editions of the Aruba Art Fair they count with over 40 murals for you to enjoy of.

THE MURALS

“It all started back in 2015 after Tito Bolivar had a visit to Bogota, Colombia. After seeing how art was everywhere on the streets and connecting people, he went back to Aruba and he felt an empty feeling on the One Happy Island of Aruba.

One day he could not stand it anymore and he decided to create an excuse to start painting on Aruba. He contacted many international artists such as BordaloII, Amsterdam Street Art, Bond Truluv and many others and explained that he wanted to transform the “ghost town” of San Nicolas into an Art District and out of the One Happy Island of Aruba a One Happy Art Island.

After many brainstorm sessions with local artists, art influencers and culture activists he decided he would start a series of projects to change the Aruban Mindset into an Artsy one. All these projects lead to the Aruba Art Fair.

The Aruba Art Fair every years leaves behind new fresh public art as a present for San Nicolas after the fair and now we can enjoy of it 365 days a year thanks to a group of visionaries, artists and a whole lot of cans & acrylic paint.
